INSTRUCTIONS FOR USERS WITHOUT ROOT ACCESS

it is possible to install MONET using only Singularity: singularity does not require admin right to run, but it does require superuser rights, at MONET installation time, to create the Singularity images.

Is it possible for your admin to (temporarily) add you to the sudoers file?

IF YES

• ask your sysadmin to add you to the sudoers file
• clone the repo or pull
• launch the installer and provide your password when required
• ask your admin to remove you from the sudoers file

IF NOT

• clone the repo or pull
• launch the installer
• when the installer asks "To complete the installation, you need SUPERUSER rights and INTERNET access. Do you want to proceed?" answer NO
• download prebuilt images:
  • download from file from https://cloud.sylabs.io/library/mattiat/default/monet-r1 rename it and place it here $HOME/.monet/containers/R1/singularity/R1-image.img
  • download from file from https://cloud.sylabs.io/library/mattiat/default/monet-k1 rename it and place it here $HOME/.monet/containers/K1/singularity/K1-image.img
  • download from file from https://cloud.sylabs.io/library/mattiat/default/monet-m1 rename it and place it here $HOME/.monet/containers/M1/singularity/M1-image.img
