French (Francais) translation #288

Hi Kenneth,

Here you will find the French translation of Duplicaty, r549 !

Quite a pretty long job...

And now the legal stuff... ;o)

Me, Matthieu Weber accept that the Duplicati project publishes my translated 
files under the LGPL license. 

...By the way, I cannot succeed in compiling Duplicati:
Got an Access denied stuff with visual studio express 2010 (Compiler Error 
CS1548)

Wow, nice work :) !
I'll add this asap, but will probably be a few days.

The "access denied" error is new to me.
It looks as if the Duplicati.snk file is present.
If you choose the menu "View" (Affichage?) and "Output" you should get the 
actual commands executed, and perhaps that can track the problem further.
My best guess is that there is some readonly/permission issue with the file 
Duplicati.snk. I can compile Duplicati.Library.Core fine with VS2010.

You can also remove all the signing stuff and it should work fine too.

Well, output sends to me the same errors.

All files in the tortoise repository are not in readonly mode and I changed the 
owner to me to see if it changed anything...

You can remove the signing stuff by unchecking the "Signer l'assembly" box 
shown in your screenshot 1. You likely need to do it for all the projects.

When you try to build the localization dll's with "LocalizationTool.exe BUILD 
fr" you may need to remove the <keyfile>..\GUI\Duplicati.snk</keyfile> part of 
the "configuration.xml" file.

You don't need to build Duplicati to do the translation though, you can just 
point it to your installation, or download the binaries and edit the 
"configuration.xml" file to point at the binaries.

I think you need to change "fr" to fr-FR" for Duplicati to pick it up, but I'm 
not 100% sure on that. When I add it, I will test and rename as required.

OK thanks, I missed checking  "Signer assembly" stuff for all files in the 
project...

Now it compile but crash immediately

Don't know but looks like there is something wrong with Sql Lite...

Did you see this problem before ?

This issue was updated by revision r551.

I have now committed the translated fr-FR files, and it looks good :).
I have to update the installer build process to automatically build the 
translation files.

I have now fixed various things, I found a non-translated form, causing the 
context menu to not be translated. 
I also made some adjustments, and it is now possible to just run the "gui 
update.bat", and it shows that there are only 17 untranslated strings! Very 
nice!

I believe Duplicati 1.2 is now stable enough to be released.

I am hoping that you would like to update the translation for Duplicati.

I have revised the translation procedure a bit since then,
so you can now edit the strings in a spreadsheet.

I have taken the liberty of adding you as an editor on the spreadsheet, and you 
should have received an email with a link, otherwise the document is here:

You're welcome, your soft is very good and I am glad to contribute ...

Great, its even easier to translate trough Google docs, this is a very good
idea !
I've already started the translation; this should take a few days... I am
trying not to make too long sentences, as English explanation take less
space than French ones (but German is worse ;o).

Feels free to leave 'generous' spaces at the end of English texts..
sometimes some buttons are hidden in French due to long French sentences !

Still a very good job In all cases !

There is now an updated translation document, please translate the missing 
entries when you have the time.

You can filter by "missing" and "not-updated" to see all non-translated entries.

There should be no more changes until 1.3 is out. The plan is to let the 
current version become beta2 and later release it, if it does not have critical 
problems.

Hi Kenneth & Matthieu

I think the french translation file is outdated in 1.3.1 (svn).

I found missing strings and a lot of curious matches between original and 
translated strings. I tried to compile Duplicati and the result was not usable 
at all in french.

You can find my little contribution in the attached file.

Hi Stephane, I tried to compare the two and it was really difficult.
It seems that the version in svn/google docs is seriously botched,
for instance "Pause period" is translated to "Haute (Non recommandé)".

I just tried the 1.3.1 build and the French translation is completely wrong.

Hi Kenneth , Stephane,

So ... looks there is something like a synchronization error (lines
shifted?) in the translation file, or do you think I was not awake when I
translated the file ?  ;o)

In all cases, I am not certain everything I did is accurate, sometimes
sentences carried out of theirs context can be translated into different
meanings...

Hi Matthieu, it is most likely some injected empty lines somewhere, because the 
words were translated, but to another word. I think the error is caused by me, 
because I updated some stuff prior to the 1.3.1 release, and 1.3 looks fine. I 
don't know exactly what happened because I checked Danish, Spanish and German 
and they are correct, and I did the same thing with all the translations.

@psingani: You are trying to create a file in "C:\Program Files\" which 
requires administrator privileges.
Change to another folder, or run the command prompt as Administrator.

Duplicati crashes ("Input string was not in a correct format") when using the 
"--full-if-more-than-n-incrementals" options on a French environment. This is 
due to a translation error.
