looks like a problem with launching the channel. debug info for that only
shows up in xbmc.log. if you attach that, i can take another look

Don't forget to turn on debug in XBMC > Settings > System

I think this is an issue with dns in xbmc highlighted in issue 154. Try the
workaround in comment #1

Don't really know if i did the right things:
i simply added 2 lines to /etc/hosts :
192.168.178.22 mike (current user)
192.168.178.22 mythtv
all still the same :-(
it is all on localmachine (if that works i will also try over network ;-) )
what can it be? are there wrong versions installed? is a new install helpful?
If Yes: how can i make a "clean" new installation of xbmc, mythtv, and mythbox
(with resetting /deleting all the config files)
thanks for your help
greetings from germany

Note, I really don't think this is a MythBox issue. I'm also running XBMC
11.0-pvr (from OpdenKamp's github).
However, the same thing happens (loading symbol appears, and then nothing) when
I try to play Live TV using the myth:// protocol. And the xbmc.log in this
case looks virtually identical as well.
This would suggest to me it's an XBMC issue, not MythBox.
