Dear colleagues,

MS BL, Or. 689, fols. 70v-73v witnesses a Vita of Zenobius and Zenobia, as a part of Gadla samāʿtāt collection: http://www.bl.uk/manuscripts/Viewer.aspx?ref=or_689_fs001r# The link to the description by Wright is here: https://archive.org/details/catalogueofethio00brituoft/page/160/mode/2up The same work appears to be also transmitted in https://betamasaheft.eu/manuscripts/ESum018/main (n. 14). I could not find an entry for this work in the DB, maybe I have overlooked it. I would be grateful for a short cross-check. In case that the work record does not exist, I would like to create a work record for it. @thea-m @DenisNosnitsin1970 @eu-genia

If you do not find it... Probably it is not there.

Please do, I am supposed to work through the list of GS works but I have not done this one yet. Here is for the content of the record, from the compilation by Alessandro, who should be also mentioned then

BTW We should maybe also decide in general of a more standardyzed main title for the GS texts

DariaElagina commented 2 years ago

Thank you, @eu-genia , I will do it! Concerning the title, I do not consider myself the most qualified one for such a decision.

DariaElagina commented 2 years ago

Dear @eu-genia , how should I credit the compilation by Alessandro? Is there any bibliographic information? Should I list all the manuscripts as witnesses in the work record? Thank you!

eu-genia commented 2 years ago

Maybe add simply a change element that he provided the data; the ms is unpublished. I think it could be good to list them, yes, also with the date, as it is interesting that there is no unique dies natalis

DariaElagina commented 2 years ago

ok! thank you!

Sorry, I have checked Graf (cited above) for possible further information, but I do not find the information on this particular text. Could someone be so kind to cross-check?

eu-genia commented 2 years ago

very strange, i cannot find any of them in Graf, not even in the index... leave it then... This Russian article https://www.pravenc.ru/text/199829.html seems well informed and does not list Graf among the sources (while it does the Ethiopic Synaxarion, with a reference)
