There is some problem with the images, they should be there but are not shown, probably there is a mistake in the record. Could you check? https://betamasaheft.eu/manuscripts/ESmac002/viewer

This is the same issue as here https://github.com/BetaMasaheft/Documentation/issues/2052 The images are not on the aai-hlz-bm storage, they were never put there.

Indeed, there only a few images on aai-hlz-bm. I found out that the respective folder in on "Ethio-Spare 5", from which the JPG images were taken by Pietro for turning into TIFFs, is empty (MAC- Chähat Mädhane Aläm > "MAC-002 User resized"). What is the best way for you to get them? I can try to make TIFFs ouf of them, if necessary, and save into the folder on aai-hlz-bm. Otherwise take them directly.

1) Pietro moved the images from HLZ3, but obviously he did not work through all folders, or they got lost somewhere on the way 2) saving as tiff won't work, you need pyramid tif, i spent the whole day today learning, there is special software for that (not even saving as pyramid tif in photoshop works, these are not recognized as tiled images) but 3) i have learnt! check ESmac002 now - I have put only 5 images for now, as they are big and it takes time, for now I did them one by one as a test, but I will try to learn how to do batch transformations. Anyway can also report to @abausi - we are OK with IIIF, so we can accept all images we are given, create stubs, and display them!

(please do not save anything simply on aai-hlz-bm unless you know exactly that you are saving the correct format, i played in my local directory before i was sure i have the correct format)

PS I took the images from the User resized folder, which is for MAC on Ethio-SPaRe2 (aai-hlz-ethiospare\Gemeinsam\HLZ2\Ethio-Spare2\MAC-Chähat Mädhane Aläm\MAC-002\2010-12-06\MAC-002 User resized)

Very good, though I do not see those images on Ethio-SPaRe2, i see the folder on Z:\aai-hlz-ethiospare\Gemeinsam\HLZ5\Ethio-Spare5\MAC-Chähat Mädhane Aläm - User\MAC-002 User resized which is now empty (possibly someone deleted them by chance, or never saved). I am not going to save anything anywhere on bm, no warries.

eu-genia commented 2 years ago

Go to "Z:\aai-hlz-ethiospare\Gemeinsam\HLZ2\Ethio-Spare2\MAC-Chähat Mädhane Aläm\MAC-002\2010-12-06\MAC-002 User resized"

I see, this is a mistake, it should not be there. I will move it to where it should be.

Since after some searching and learning and trying it out the solution in the end was quite simple and easily applicable by anyone I have added a chapter on image transformation to the guidelines, so that everything is clearly documented for everyone to see and reuse. https://github.com/BetaMasaheft/guidelines/commit/2d475e0dbc14d5b5717f912abb13598b782c955f
