Do make sure that you use the correct Unicode for ǝ as well (01DD) AND NOT ə (Unicode 0259).

ǝ (01DD) corresponds to Ǝ (Unicode 018E) when you switch to capital in Word, try it out.

Also @Addisie @GueshSol @MarcinKrawczuk please make sure to use the correct symbol, thank you! Unfortunately it is not visible on the screen, so please set up your keyman or whichever shortcuts you use correctly to always get the right one (ǝ). Thank you!

I have used ə everywhere. I cannot see if it is the right one. I get it with the keyboard layout I use. When I capitalise the same letter, it is Ə, so I think it might be the wrong one. If it is not the correct šwa, I may go through all the records.

How can I avoid this in the future? Do I need to get a new keyboard layout?

It is the wrong one. For the future please update your keyboard layout or use another keyboard (e.g. Keyman, we have the layout prepared by @abausi which I can share). I use Qalam Arabia by the corpus coranicum (advice from @thea-m), https://corpuscoranicum.de/de/about/tools , it is very simple and it has the right symbols.

For now please look for ə

and replace it with ǝ

in all the files you are working with, I will be batch fixing the ones which are already merged. I know they look the same but they are not. Copy paste from here and replace. Thank you.

I updated all records that have not been merged and that I am aware of. I hope, that I have not forgotten any.

The keyboard layout in https://corpuscoranicum.de/de/about/tools may have the correct ǝ and also Ç, that is useful for some occasions. On the other hand I miss options to create č̣, ṗ or ž. Also ʷ and y for qʷe, kʷa, nya etc. would be helpful to have it on the keyboard. Is there an option to have it all on one keyboard? Otherwise, I need to switch the keyboard very often or find them in the internet on wikipedia or lexilogos.

Also Ethiopic number (፩ ... ) on the Ethiopic keyboard would be useful.

As I already wrote above, you can install Keyman, for Keyman we have a full diacritics keyboard.

Thank you, Zhenia. That's the issue I always run into when sharing my texts with colleagues. The Schwa character always appears empty. I habitually insert the character :(
