• Create an NYC.gov/data account
• Outline what data feed you would want to subscribe to
• Create a github account, fork project x, and make a pull request with your name / github account
• Get comfortable with the code snippet
• Reply on talk

And, I made this list (on Google Keep but just transferred to Docs) a while back of possible data feeds from the open data portal to add to Citygram: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ugkBYd6jaNi77n3PycuthpmgjSXeHIYORglo6BQCFKk/edit?usp=sharing. I looked for data that updated frequently and had some location aspect.
