In spite of being toggle-able, none of the three parameters which swap BTA's in-game outputs for game controllers button inputs (For example 'Swap X & Y') succeed in tempering with controller button mapping like intended nor doing anything at all.
Steps to reproduce
From the pause menu or the title screen, go to 'Options...'
Go to the 'Controls' tab
Scroll down until the 'Controller' section
Toggle any of the following parameters : 'Swap LR R ZR R', 'Swap A & B', 'Swap X & Y'
Return to the game, or open any worlds
Test out any of the controller buttons meant to be affected by the recently toggled parameters
Expected behaviour
The occurring in-game action done by pressing any of the following button inputs (A, B, X, Y, LR, R, ZR, R) remains the same, in a way that disregards any of a controller user's choice in toggling any of the previously mentioned parameters under their intent of having a more comfortable game experience.
