Page keeps glitching when I'm typing a direct message. #105

Whenever I type a direct message, the page glitches and covers the direct message portion of the screen in black

Does it only happen when BetterSEQTA is enabled?

Yes it only happens when i have that.

Hmm, I'd need a bit more information because I can't replicate it. Can you screen record it happening?

That's really weird! I'm not quite sure what that is, although we'll have to look into it and try to figure that out... Does it not happen if you disable transparency effects and the animated background?

Nah it doesn't with them disabled but it got real bad when I was typing a message today during class, and even like when I click new message the box is delayed and lags, even when adding people to the message it lags ALOT (thats with transparency effects and animated background enabled)

Yeah, the transparency effects are pretty intensive, so depending on your laptops specs you might have some issues- I'm not sure how much I can do about that. I'm going to work to reduce some of the lag when menus open etc.

But most of this is because of:

  1. SEQTA being coded in an interesting way

  2. Along with the fact that we are using blur filters which take quite a lot for computers to calculate

    I'm optimising the next version quite a bit so that hopefully it get's a bit better, but otherwise you might have to disable transparency effects if you are really struggling.

No worries, thanks for the heads up! and the laptop I use is an Apple MacBook Air M1,2020 8GB RAM and 256GB total storage for school.

I wouldn't imagine the m1 chip to be struggling dealing with a bit of blur... that's kinda weird.

What browser are you running this on? Are you using an old version of your browser, which may not be able to render the blur?

Can you reinstall BetterSEQTA+ or clear your cache?

I did reinstall it but the issue persists and I also cleared the cache, the lag is horrible when I Send one message to lots of people...like A LOT.

That's weird. It looks like this is an issue on your school's SEQTA and not with BetterSEQTA+

Can't reproduce, you can try to minimize it with turning off heavy effects like the animated background and/or transparency effects.

Wait, the issue stopped now (and I think permanently) reinstalling didn't help but clearing cache did help though.
