1 month ago We've just tested this in BB 128.4.0-bb15 (will be released soon), but there shouldn't be a difference to the older version.
If the "betterbird icon" is a Windows shortcut, then dragging a document onto that shortcut WILL NOT open BB and start a composition with the document attached.
In Windows, you can right-click onto the item and select "Send to > Mail recipient". That will also work with the portable installation, as long as it's registered correctly, see: https://www.betterbird.eu/support/, section "What's the story with the portable version?".
Usually people use drag a document onto the compose window to attach it, or use the "Attach" button. We've tested "Attach > Recent Files" and that also works, like is shown here: https://www.betterbird.eu/media/img/recent-file-attach.png.
BTW, "add recent file" is not an option in the program.
Overall, we can't detect any issues.
When I drag and drop file on betterbird icon, nothing happens. What I expect is that new mail window would open, with file attached.
With pdf nothing happens, with docx it opens in word, when I drag and drop docx on betterbird. I usually open word documents by double clicking on file, so this is not what user wants.
Tried using 'add recent file', but betterbird hangs.
OS windows 10 betterbird version: 128.2.0esrbb8 64 bit, portable
