This might be fixed now
My 8/15 test suggests this is partially fixed. I clicked on 9 items, all 9 are registered in GA as events, and all 9 as the Retailer Visited. That's a big improvement relative to the day prior.
However, we used to be able to click into modal clicks or retailer visited clicks to see which is which. Right now I can't determine what people are clicking on to read vs. actually navigating to the retailer.
I've worked with GA4 a good amount and manually set up custom reporting that tracks Retailer Visited Clicks, AI Item Clicks, and IT Items Loads. Those are all neatly documented Event Categories.
Near as I can tell card flips and wishlist clicks are not currently tagged in the same way so I can't do the same.
In UA the hierarchy was Event Category > Event Action > Event Label, with the Event Action being the product names.
In GA4 they call everything an event and have moved to the concept of parameters to add additional nested layers like Action and Label.
