I have the same problem in Zip code 93454. There is a theater about 16 miles
away that does not show up.

I'm in zip code 85202 (Mesa, AZ). iPhone 3G with v2.0.2.
I set theater range to 50 miles, but on the Theaters page, when set to Distance
mode,
it only shows theaters up to "Less than 15 miles away."

Zip code 08540, 'hide theaters beyond' set to 50 miles. iPhone 3G, firmware
v2.0.2, NP v1.2.1 (says it's BO
v1.3 in the about screen).
Same problem as previous comment - only displays theaters within 15 miles,
regardless of preference. This
was also present in previous version (1.2), but IIRC worked fine in 1.0/1.1.

Sorry, but no. This is NOT a duplication of issue 63. Issue 63 deals with a
request for worldwide support.
This issue is specific to an existing NP 'service area' (for lack of a better
term) wherein the app is not
displaying theaters in the user-defined range. It has nothing to do with
worldwide support.

It's the same issue. Both are about expanding coverage by adding additional
providers. That is the necessary
step to solve both:
a) worldwide coverage
b) breadth in coverage for North America.

Again, I beg to differ. The theaters are there when I change zip codes. The
providers aren't the problem. The application physically won't display theaters
beyond 15 miles of the zip code entered (or your current location), regardless
of
where you are or which provider is feeding the theater information.
I live in zip code 08540. The UA Oxford Valley Mall 16 is approx 18 miles from
my
apartment. The theater shows up if I punch in 19407 (Langhorne PA). But if I
go
back to 08540 as my 'home' location and set the "hide beyond" pref to 20 miles,
I
only see theaters up to 15 miles, and the theater in Langhorne doesn't show up.

mdnovember, you're not understanding what the 'hide beyond' filter does (which
is unsurprising since it's just
3 words that can easily be interpreted in multiple ways). 'Hide Beyond'
filters out theaters *after* they're
returned from the data provider. It does *not* affect the actual data provider
search. Some of my current
data providers only return theaters within a 15 mile radius. So even if your
filter is set high, it won't matter.
I've added text in the program to help explain this in the next version.
This is a dupe of 63 because 63 deals with me expanding coverage *in the US* to
providers that will return
data from a larger radius.
In other words... the problem you are seeing is not within
BoxOffice/NowPlaying. It is an artifact of the current
data providers. As i expand coverage to more data providers (i.e. what 63 is
talking about), this artifact will
diminish (and hopefully go away).
