With MQTT and JSON in OPC UA v1.04+ it is not needed anymore for newer Node-RED versions in the future. With MQTT or JSON/REST Node-RED can talk directly to OPC UA servers. We have a new OPC UA server package for Node-RED, which will be continued in the future.
