@seltmann suggested to write a paper to describe how to publish specimen as a digital package.

@jhpoelen suggested to have the specimen write their own papers, in the form of nano-pubs derived from the process of selecting a specimen from a specific collection and connecting derived data products to them (e.g., obj model / 3d model, animated gif, image sequences, specimen info panel).

A combination may be a mega-publication consisting of nano publications with some contextual glue and suggested next steps. Make sure to put this effort into context of related efforts like digital extended specimen, audubon core, DwC.
