Compare GloBI bee indexed interactions with all of GBIF #12

@jhpoelen For bee interactions found in museum occurrence records, can we compare with all of GBIF to see if we have indexed all of the available bee interaction data?

Sure we can index all of GBIF and compare the results with the specific collections currently included in GloBI! We have access to a versioned copy of GBIF registered datasets.

We'd have to come up with some comparison criteria . . .

How'd you establish a criteria for similarity of species interactions mined from museum collections? Based on interaction counts? Taxonomic coverage? Interaction type?

I'll have to think a little about this. Curious to hear your thoughts. . .

Great! I am thinking one-to-one comparisons so that we can discuss % coverage based on interaction counts and ask if some collections are missing from GloBI that are shared via GBIF. I am only interested in the bees (for this study) but it would be interesting to see if the missing data has some taxonomic bias (ie more honeybees and parasites) or bias in basisOfRecord, Country.

I think if we first 1) get all bee interactions from GBIF, 2) then compare based on institutionCode + catalogNumber for % similarity. That way we can also ask other comparison questions.
