A backend ticket will be created depending on the result of this ticket.
Context:
Currently, the only method a user has for adding a location to their report is for them to manually enter their location . Ex:350 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA. While this is definitely simple in some cases where people frequent a location often and know the address off the top of their head, this isn't always the case. For example, if a user is going somewhere for the first time (e.g. to a party), they may not exactly know where they are.
Another case is when someone is hurriedly trying to make a report--they may find manually inputting the location "not worth the effort". In these situations, having a method for us to automatically gather their location (only when explicit consent is given) would prove useful.
To-do:
[ ] Research national laws related to gathering a user's location (given their consent).
Pull together a list of potential issues and blockers.
Comment whether or not it is 'safe' to go forward with this. If it is, do the next to-do as well.
[ ] Find examples of this feature on other websites, paying attention to how consent is requested, and their Terms & Conditions
Write general notes as to what we may consider adding to our Terms & Conditions
You are not required to generate a Terms & Conditions for this ticket.
