I am impressed by this script and its work done, and I can understand there is no other way than to Bruteforce the *.backup file to acquire the containing login username and password since the files are salted.
However, since I can touch this piece of shit router that is locked by the guy who installed it, it is possible to reset the router to get in without a password and retrieve the auto-dumped backup file.
The only thing is...
if I reset the router, the configuration defaults to its factory settings, which is practically nothing, making the router have DNS issues, thus making it unable to connect to the internet anymore. I can only make it work again if I restore the backup, locking me out again.
is there a way I could get the configuration and settings out of the unpacked backup file so I can enter them myself manually after I have reset the router so it works again?
Or maybe modify the backup file so I can restore a custom backup file without login credentials, so I can make them myself?
Thank you for all the great work and effort! you have some great repo's too!
