Currently inefficient and in need of optimisations:

Matrix of minors calculates determinants for all size-1 submatrices within a matrix. This can be cached and used to speed up calculating the original matrix's determinant. Currently, the determinant is calculated from scratch after the matrix of minors is calculated.

Linear algebraic components are being remade and thus this issue is no longer relevant.
