And as a follow-up, are we headed to defining presence by occupancy per unit area? I doubt you are thinking per unit volume, but it will be good to be clear.
And will there be any sensitivity to presence? Is any-non-zero-value per unit [fill in the blank] a presence?
I would be interested in taking a look at these groups:
siph hydrom coel ctenop salps
I'm leaning toward presence-absence, but maybe getting a sense of the distributions of these data first would help.
OK - it will be set up to filter for one or more groups (default to the above) using per unit area. I'll make up an analysis of the observations so you can feel like you're making an informed decision.
Are we bounded to time periods associated with the covariates, say, satellites? Oh, come to think of it, if our first pass is CEFI then maybe it is a moot question.
This is always tricky, especially until we have a firm answer from our "customer". If CEFI goes 1993 - present (eventually), then I think it will be a good option.
Add this taxon to our list:
salps
The [ecomon] package was tuned to retrieve calfin data. How can we use it to retrieve gelatinous records? So, @SeascapeScience which of these are target groups?
