How do I upload torrents or music? #1

I had bearshare for a few years and all I needed was to have a folder I could drag files into and they were sharable. But with Bigly I can't seem to find a way to shar stuff i already have. If I keep stuff i downloaded with bigly in the folder I place downloads into, then it will share until I take it out of the Library. And I do keep any files with small numbers of seeders I download for at least 3 full shares, sometime more, but i need a place NOT in the library I can hold sharing files. Any way to do that?

When a download is seeding (and indeed during downloading) it is sharing the data (uploading to) other peers. It is up to you how long you keep a download in BiglyBT in a seeding state. Generally it is good manners to reach a share ratio of at least 1 (i.e. you have uploaded a full copy of the download to other peers) but this can be hard to attain for downloads with low numbers of leechers.

If you want to add files to BiglyBT for sharing yourself then you will generally need to create torrents and register those torrents with a tracker. You will then need to share those torrents with other users somehow. All torrent clients are like this - they are not general file sharing platforms where you can simply register files and have them shared with other users, they are based on torrent files.

Having said that BiglyBT does have a sharing feature (see Tools->My Shares and File->Share... menus). This will automatically generate torrent files and register them for decentralised tracking. However it is still up to you to tell other users about the shared files, BiglyBT doesn't publicise them or make them searchable by others.
