Is Xerela still an active project & donating?? #10

I used to use the AlterPoint tool & xerela seems like a great fork of that, but
I have a couple issues, 1 which is I am getting a Protocol "not enabled" error,
so I am sure it's easy, but I don't see any activity on this site.

I hope it is active and I am a big advocate of donating as well and I couldn't
see a link to do that either.

I ran the install for the JDK & Pearl, then Xerela, tried to discover a device
& get "protocol not avaible or found", so I think it's tied to the config in
protocols & network perhaps, but I just used the default & tried to get 1
device, still the same error. Does it need to point to a "tool" to do the
ssh/telnet even though I only want to do discovery right now?

I'd definitely like to know whether or not the developers are still active on
here with it. Was anyone able to find a changelog?

Yes, the project is still alive. There haven't been any new checkins for a
while because I've been working on trying to find a way to get regular,
full-time contributions to the project. There is interest from some ex-AP
people, so hopefully there will be more of a "hard" launch in another few
months.

Apart from that, the immediate focus is on:
* documentation
* cleaning up the Windows installer & all the Perl dependencies
* creating a CentOS VM with everything on it

In the meantime, there's a wiki page on how to contribute:

Anyone know what the status of this project is? Looks like there hasn't been
any contributions since 12/1/2010.

Any recommendations on similar projects that may be further along in
development?

It may be of interest to the developers of this project that I have a complete
backup of the old ZipTie file share hosted here:
http://dmon.org/downloads/ziptie/ ... sad to see that the project seems to be
pretty dead seeing as there have been no contributions for about three years.
