Laptop with touchscreen shows touch UI always #466

I have a few laptops at home. My main laptop has a touchscreen and after installing TouchUI , it always displays touch ui. I disabled the following options in plugin settings: Start TouchUI automatically onload based on resolution. Start TouchUI automatically onload based on touch device.

however, this laptop still shows touch UI. and there is no way to manually disable touch UI on this screen. how can I revert back to normal OctoPrint UI ?

Also, on my 3.5 inch LCD screen there is a splash screen which says "connecting to touch UI" with a blue TouchUI logo. it never shows the touchUI.

what is wrong ?

I installed my LCD screen using instructions from : https://avikdas.com/2018/12/31/setting-up-lcd-screen-on-raspberry-pi.html and https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/3.5inch_RPi_LCD_(A)

after removing "UI customizer" plugin now I get the manual toggle button on UI. and with that I am able to change to normal UI.

but on the LCD screen I am still stuck at the "connecting to touch UI" screen. sometimes I see "loading touch UI" but then it fails and goes to a red screen saying "failed to connect"

what is wrong ?

but it was not an easy install for these 2 issues. I think the install script should be modified to make this an easy install...
