What is the correct procedure to force FCC #34

Closed fuffa2k5 closed 7 years ago

Hi folks and thanks for the great job. Stating that I was able to use the tools to compile the new apk (4.1.3) with the fcc mods and that I have installed it on my android. What are next steps to activate the mod? Do I have to do something (inserting the Country Code) or is not needed?

Thanks so much.

Fuffa.

You are done already, mod is activated automatically.

Thanks Bin4ry. And what happens if in the country code I insert i.e FR (France)? It will revert to CE limit or what?

At some point the App warns me about the fact that I'm in a different region and the wifi need to be resetted. Should I have to press cancel or OK? If I press OK what will happen?

Thanks!!!

If you enter FR you will be in france which is EU which is CE. I hardcoded US into this so that on every appstart this will be on US. Never got this dialog you are speaking about. Maybe someone else can comment on this better than me. You get this while flying with the modded apk?

The warning appear before flying and every time I start the app. The exact message is: // Switch WLAN settings Your aircraft if flying in different country/region. Aircraft will reset its WLAN settings in accordance with local regulations. Please connect later. Cancel / OK //

If I hit Cancel i can go ahead and fly. If I hit OK it just disconnects /reconnect the WIFI connection.

My doubt is that I'm not sure what to press to force the FCC (obviously I'm not located in an FCC region) Thanks

well, your question misses still several informations. Which Aircraft, which firmware, did you try another firmware. did you notice any differences? also this is not a support chat, this is an open source development repo ;)

It's a Spark. AC .500, RC .100 DJI GO 4.1.3. with the older AC firmware was the same. My feeling is that if I hit OK, the wlan is resetted to my region configuration. It seems that the app understand that I'm not in FCC and asks. But I'm not sure. Also other people from my country are experiencing the same doubt. I'm really sorry if this is not the right place to discuss this. Is there a suitable place where I can get in touch with you?

Thanks

Not with me directly, but on RCG and other forums people are discussing stuff like this. Any specific reasons for Spark FW 500? I would suggest fw 300, this has working quickshots and has no problems overall. The best combo IMHO is 300 / 100 atm! Go 4.1.3 is a good choice, you build the full package? Offline, Fcc etc.? Also do you fly with Wifi or OTG?

My Spark setup is: 300/100, go 4.1.3 full patches, OTG. Never seen this message which is strange for me. How far can you fly? Does the CC dialog still show US after the AC has rebooted and you hit OK? Does it also show US after you hit cancel? It COULD be a fw500 thingy, not sure though, but it is the most obvious difference.

fuffa2k5 commented 7 years ago

No a specific reason, just updated because the app was asking for that. I can downgrade to 300 but was the same so it's not a .500 reason. I build the apk with only the fcc patch. I'm using wifi, not OTG. I have to try the other test you suggested. btw, are you located in CE or FCC region? tnx fuffa

Yes, i am located in Germany. Please do some more tests in different constellations as this is new to me too :)

I foung this thread... I have at hous something like Farady Cave ;) and I make one test.

  1. Spark not moving in one place
  2. Spark-RC removed from WLAN list
  3. Connected only to OTG, WLAN off
  4. RC on, Spark On
  5. Conneting RC with SPARK - information about WLAN SETTINGS -> CANCEL/OK

Test 1 Pressed CANCEL - I going to my Faraday Cave. Signal very low. After this i shut down Spark and RC and APP

Test 2 Pressed OK (aircraft reset) - I going to the same place. Signal is almost full.

I make this same test 4 time. The same result. AC .500, RC .100, App 4.1.4 with FCC mod

Bin4ry commented 7 years ago

That would make sense. the app says US the AC doesn't so it would make sense if you accept this dialog and then it switches to US too.
