Invalid (or old?) Fermi name for Cyg X-3 #51

Open esabol opened 1 year ago

esabol commented 1 year ago

The entry for Cyg X-3 has the Fermi ID as 4FGL J2032.6+4053, but Cyg X-3 is 4FGL J2032.4+4056 in the Fermi LAT 14-Year Point Source Catalog (4FGL-DR4). (All the other Fermi names match names in 4FGL-DR4, fyi.) Please fix.

Also, we think the BeppoSAX ID for gam Cas should be SAXWFC J0056.7+6043.4 (not gamma Cas.). Reference: https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR?-source=J/A%2BA/472/705

Thanks for the heads up, at the time of publication the HMXB catalogue was crossmatched to 4FGL DR3 and I have yet to update it to DR4. As for the BeppoSAX ID, the reference catalogue we used was from Capitanio+2011, who used Gam Cas as the ID and not the SAXWFC ID.

Well, Cyg X-3 is the only ID that needs to be updated. I suppose it is possible some of the coordinates have changed in DR4. I haven't checked the coordinates.

But all the other BeppoSAX IDs are SAXWFCs and there's a perfectly serviceable SAXWFC for Gamma Cas. Using Gamma Cas for the BeppoSAX ID provides no additional value since the main ID is Gamma Cas.
