Permissions Insufficient for All But Administrator Role #46

I am unable to issue any functional commands to the bot unless I have the Administrator role. Is there any lower permission that works? Is there a way to tell which permission it requires?

Command issued: "join "definitely-not-overwatch" Error message: "Insufficient permissions to run command"

For the record, my version is the one created on ‎Friday, ‎October ‎30, ‎2020. The bot works wonderfully in all servers where I have the Administrator role.

You need admin role or bot ownership to issue functional commands, see #25. If you have an idea how to improve it, be sure to let me know.

Thank you so so much for your reply. I followed the instructions to create this bot with Discord's developer tools (great guide, BTW) and so I believe I'm the owner of the bot.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding. "Bot ownership" means creator of the bot, right?

That'd be correct - please make sure the discord account you used to create the bot application is the same as the one you are using to issue commands (via discord dm or guild text channel) to the bot user. If these are different accounts it won't work.

Interesting. It is, indeed, the same account. I will keep investigating. Thanks for the replies, and the bot in the first place! :)

Please update to the latest version, that should fix this old bug (#36). My apologies.
