'Explore occurrences' and 'Species list' negate taxon protection #34

The 'Explore occurrences' on a taxon page takes you to all records of that taxon, even if the taxon is supposed to be protected on our portal.

If you search for a record (or group of records) the taxon is listed as 'identification protected' on the list/table view. But by clicking the 'Species list' the taxon is clearly named.

But click the 'Species List' tab and you see the taxon and see this:

Furthermore, you need only go to the taxon page and click "Explore 2 occurrences" which take you to 2 "identification protected" records.

Oh, maybe all of this is a known issue?

By simply searching for 'Etheostoma swaini' in the taxon field it shows the specimens as well. It seems the taxon is only fuzzed in the direct view of the occurrence record and on the specimen list page, but any other search still returns the specimens of that taxon?

@mandrewj I'm not even seeing the "identification protected" when not logged in now. The issue probably still stands but I'm not even seeing this taxon as protected at all anymore.

As of 4/19/22 I don't even see "Identification Protected" anymore for the example given.

As of 9/7/22, all of taxon protection is broken. See issue https://github.com/BioKIC/NEON-Biorepository/issues/319

This is still a high priority issue. However I am closing it for housekeeping purposes as it is now superceded by this one https://github.com/BioKIC/NEON-Biorepository/issues/11

(not even the protection of the species name in the example given is protected anymore)
