[Feature-request]: Ability to search by specimens that are identified only to genus or family #128

Discussed in https://github.com/BioKIC/symbiota-docs/discussions/126

Originally posted by **EMTuckerLabUMMZ** March 17, 2022 It would be incredibly helpful if there were a way to tag and search for specimen records that are unidentified. Preferably at multiple hierarchal levels (i.e., only identified to genus/family/ordinal level etc.). It would make it much easier to improve the identifications, as unidentified records could be shared with willing taxonomists to identify. Ideally there would also be a way for identifiers to tag or make comments as to what the specimen is so that we can update our databases... Thanks!

Also requested/referred to by Andy Sanders at UCR: Is there a way to search a Symbiota website for specimens that are not identified to species, maybe with restrictions such as only a certain state or county, or family or genus? I’ve been discussing this with Jerry Tiehm at UNV Reno. I was able to pull a list of such things in the UCR Herbarium for him using our Filmmaker db, but neither of us know how to do that in CCH or SEINet. We’d be looking for both things that are not identified at all, and those IDed only to genus. An obvious search would be something like “Lycium" from "Nevada” '
