I eventually succeeded in posting a shorter job ad: https://support.bioconductor.org/p/9154014/ but I had to remove most of the text and also the URL to the application site before I was allowed to submit edits. I also got a message that I had to include a tag for a least one Bioconductor package, even though tagging a package is not relevant for a job ad.
We are actively investigating the blocking of messages because of particular text/special characters as it seems too restrictive.
We left key words as "package" too like Bioconductor
as well as the biocViews terms that can be used as the tag and satisfy the rule.
@lshep Today I tried various biocViews terms such as "NeuralNetwork" without success. It insists on a software package name (like "limma").
The associated error is message is quite unfriendly. It gives the appearance of a code error rather than a deliberate quality control.
We are still investigating the issue with posting as some have to do with language recognition, some with the new spam checker, and some with biocviews. As far as tagging, thanks for letting me know - I will look into this. Perhaps I didn't do all biocViews terms but you should be able to post with Bioconductor
I think as a catch all, I might have done a narrower catch all field that is acceptable in addition to packages; there are posts that have been posted without a package name and I have done so myself several times.
OK, thanks, I've replaced the "limma" tag with "Bioconductor".
The reason why I said that the website was insisting on a package name as a tag was because of the wording of the error message, which said:
"At least one package from http://bioconductor.org/packages/devel/BiocViews.html#___Software
is required."
I had also issues posting a job ad today:
Error messages should be more elaborate and should be shown during the initial submission as well. The restriction for tags to be a valid package name should be lifted for job postings.
I have posted many job ads on the Bioconductor website over the past 10 years, but today I am unable to get the website to accept a job ad.
I do everything as usual but, when I try to submit the job ad, the text of the ad goes pink and the submission does not go ahead.
Do other people have the same issue that I have?
