Do we need new spam protection

Do we need some better spam protection on NPMS. I know for CEDaR Northern Ireland I have used Spambot that blocks accounts based on blacklists.

This morning I was looking at the (accounts so I could work out how I am going to split the Address field into 3 separate fields). However I noticed suspicious looking accounts. Even ones where the County as USA, and Country as England

Usernames I noticed that have suspicious accounts that I noticed are (am sure there are many others)

Hi @BirenRathod yes, for the NPMS. I would be happy for whatever spam protection that is relevant to be enabled. Cheers

@andrewvanbreda Only using spambot doesn't resolve this problem. I will let you soon once I resolved this as I done on other sites.

I have now enabled the Spambot, Captcha and User restrictions modules. I found that these two users Rairyok, Schultz have used common email address, so I could add in user_restrictions rule, so they won't be able to succeed to create new account next time. @andrewvanbreda I haven't deleted any of those users yet, but you can now delete them. if you find any new spam user (very unlikely after enabled those modules), please add it to user restriction, so hopefully we won't get spam account on the website.

@BirenRathod @sacrevert Thanks Biren, I identified 19 other accounts to block by examining the User Info Download screen for United States accounts, these were clearly spam. Add 3 new User Restrictions as a result
