A request from branch co-ordinators to help them with chasing data at end of year.
A check box for recorders to indicate that they were unable to walk their transect during a particular week - this would mean co-ordinators not needing to chase up data for those missing weeks.
The check box could be on the Walk Data Entry page, and would negate the need to complete any other fields (apart from Site Name, Recorder Name and Date?).
This flag would then need to be visible in a location where the branch co-ordinator can easily see it, but where it does not look like, or act like, a zero count – which means it would need to stay away from the Summary and Estimates Tables.
My suggestion would be in the Raw Data table, with an additional row at the top to indicate ‘no walk conducted’ or maybe a colour-coded column with no entries?
If these entries still appear in the Samples download, they would need to be clearly marked so that they can be removed before any analysis.
As these entries will also appear in the 'My Walks' and 'Branch Walks' pages - perhaps they could be marked a different colour (eg. red) to distinguish them from genuine walks.
Just some ideas for now, and raising the issue as a placeholder for further discussion.
