Records being allocated incorrect output grid refs #1733

A number (c. 148) of records from a single user have appeared in my Berkshire moths verification page, but are not within my vice-county. The recorder concerned lives in Berkshire and normally records at their home location, but the grid ref for their home location has been incorrectly assigned as the output grid ref for record from two other counties.

The example here is for occurrence ID 37906272, linked to sample ID 27149850, entered into the NMRS online website.

In the samples table, the entered_sref is correctly stored as "SY40559478", a location in VC9, Dorset.

In the cache_samples_nonfunctional table, the public_entered_sref is again shown as "SY40559478", but the output_sref is "SU60758915", which is the recorder's home location in VC22, Berkshire.

The record details page in iRecord shows the correct grid ref for the Dorset location, but the map on that page plots the incorrect location in Berkshire.

On the verification page, only the incorrect grid ref can be seen in the default view, and the mapped location is at the incorrect site in Berkshire.

A similar problem applies to a set of records that were entered for VC23 but have again been given the output in VC22.

What can we do to correct the affected records, and how can we check whether this problem has arisen elsewhere?

That's really scary. Have these records had their location grid ref changed at some point?
