Broken Image Icon at start in IE8 #146

I've been using this script for a couple of years without problems, until IE8 - 
thanks MS.

Upon loading in IE8 a broken link image is displayed.  It disappears in the  
subsequent fade.

Not sure what version this is.

To test it I have disabled the initial html image and the loader, with out 
effect.

I do have exactly the same problem.
I took off all the images url in the css
I don't use the navigation option
Works fine in FF, not on IE8
Any idea from the author ?

Also I forgot, the size of the broken pic remains 28x30
None other data available (none !)

I guess it maight be the Version 2?
