Controller briefly shows "pause" when it should show "play" on a click-to-start slideshow

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create a slideshow, click-to-start = true, controller = true
2. Mouseover the controlller.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

A click-to-start slideshow's controller should show the "play" icon, but
instead it shows the "paused" icon, which changes to the play icon after
hovering for a second or two.

Again, a bit confusing to inexperienced users.

I confirmed that the button now shows correctly initially, but it still takes 3
clicks to actually get the show going.  (First click: no apparent response.  
Second
click: Button flashes to 'pause', then back to 'play', and the caption 
disappears. 
Third click: the show actually starts going.)
