I had purchased a BitLox hardware wallet some time ago, and I understood that there were efforts in place to add additional coins to the available options.

However, it seems that there haven't been any changes to the BitLox environment in a several years and the website is starting to suffer bit-rot

Hi Geordon, I've been quite distracted but I really am actively working on getting this pushed forward. One of the items is HWI integration, so that one could use it with one's own node. Thanks for reminding me we need to hurry up!

Any feature requests, please drop them here so I can keep track of them.

By the way, we recently moved the block explorer away from AWS but have not customized it yet. That is why bitlox.io shows as a generic block explorer.

With the last commit on the firmware repo dating back to February 2017 I assume this wallet doesn't support SegWit and certainly no Taproot. I filed your product as obsolete for now. Please update this issue should there be a new release.

If you revive this project, please provide compile- and deployment instructions and if necessary instructions on how to verify the signed binary.

Thanks for the input. Yes, it has been a while to say the least when it comes to firmware updates. SegWit and Taproot are not supported, correct. The new version under development uses a different microprocessor architecture (nRF52840) and the firmware is being redone for that.

Noted latest release as v67_signed released 04-20-2022. Marking for verification and reproducibility testing on walletscrutiny gitlab https://gitlab.com/walletscrutiny/walletScrutinyCom/-/issues/443

What does this mean for the Bitlox card that I have?

SegWit and Taproot Support:

Advanced Bitcoin Features: SegWit (Segregated Witness) and Taproot are significant upgrades to the Bitcoin network. SegWit improves transaction efficiency and scalability, while Taproot enhances privacy and smart contract capabilities.

Impact on Your Card: If your current Bitlox card does not support these features, it may not be able to take advantage of the efficiencies and capabilities they offer. This might limit your ability to interact with certain transactions or smart contracts on the Bitcoin network.
