This issue is a place to keep track of design work people are doing related to bitcoin and merchants. As we discussed on this call, we can watch what people build in this space and then figure out how to organize this sort of content for inclusion in the Guide.

Examples: UI design and UX flows relating to in-person POS (point-of-sale) terminals, ecommerce POS, managing bitcoin and fiat within a single app, etc.

The VoltPay design crit also seems relevant as it involves an analysis of a point-of-sale number pad.

I'm going to open a discussion topic soon to brainstorm the scope for the savings wallet I plan on working on next, similar to how we defined a scope for the daily spending wallet.

Would be good to also do this for the merchants section also

We talked about the merchant section in today's jam session. Main point was that we've had these issues now open without any activity for over a year, with no momentum. Decision was to consolidate the open issues into this one here (see the closed ones here), to make it possible to pick up the work again in the future. This would ideally be driven by someone dedicated to this section, along with partnerships with projects like BTCPay.

Big picture, we may not even need to think about a huge section as it can be intimidating to get going. Starting with some smaller tasks, like gathering research or identifying personas, might be more manageable.
