Can't create zpool on raid50 #118

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. After partitioning ZFS per 'Getting Started' - successful
2. Creating a zfs pool on new the partition gives the error:: cannot open 
'/dev/disk2s2': Permission Denied
3. Using the command (or GUI) # mount /dev/disk2s2 gives the error: unknown 
special file or file system

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The ZFS partition won't mount to be able to create a zpool

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
74.3.0 on OSX 10.8.4

Please provide any additional information below.
This 12TB drive is on a hardware highpoint 2720SGL RAID card at RAID50 (2TB 
x8). In Disk Utility, it shows as an external SCSI drive, but in fact its an 
internal SATA array.
I have tried this with SUDO commands and while logged in as the root user, but 
no luck. This is my first attempt at ZFS.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.diskutil list
2.diskutil partitiondisk /dev/disk2 GPTFormat ZFS %noformat% 100%
3.create puddle /dev/disk2s2

Additional:
When typing, zpool create puddle /dev/disk2s2s
This error shows: cannot open '/dev/disk2s2': Permission Denied

When typing, sudo -s zpool create puddle /dev/disk2s2s
This error shows: cannot create 'puddle':  I/O error

Intel 3225 proc
16gb RAM
180gb intel ssd - os driver
Highpoint 2720GSL - raid 50
8x 2tb barracuda sata's (as 12tb)

When I type: mount /dev/disk2s2

MacZFS has been discontinued.  Please switch to https://openzfsonosx.org/
