Osx zfs failed to initialize ZFS library #139

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install MacZFS on Mavericks
2. Restart mac
3. Open Terminal
4. Try 'zpool'

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I don't know.. some message, maybe a complaint that it is missing parameters?
I get "osx zfs failed to initialize ZFS library" instead.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Installed MacZFS-74.3.3.pkg on OSX 10.9.5

Please provide any additional information below.
I executed 'collect-maczfs-state.sh'. The output file was attached.

Thanks!

Thanks for the report, however the problem is that you have two ZFS versions
installed.

You have loaded the [https://openzfsonosx.org/ OpenZFS on OS X] version
(net.lundman.zfs, in Library/Extensions), but probably run the tools from
MacZFS-74. That can't work.

Please uninstall any and all parts of MacZFS and only use OpenZFS on OS X (O3X).
You can use "pkgutil --unlink org.maczfs.zfs.106.pkg" for uninstalling.
It might be a good idea, to reinstall O3X afterwards.

Beside that, MacZFS has been discontinued, so O3X is the way to go.
