Legacy Layout Selector (Would make an awesome throwback tool, especially in light of Twitter's 15th anniversary in 2021) #205

Hello! You've done an amazing job restoring the 2014 - 2019 layout twitter has had for five years prior to the current one, and with this, I would love to see more legacy layouts restored in the near future, especially with Twitter's 15th anniversary on the horizon for those that want to relive nostalgia with older layouts. Some examples can be found below:

2007 Twitter: 2007twitter

2009 Twitter: 2009twitter

2011 Twitter: 2011Twitter

2012 Twitter: 2012twitter

2013 Twitter: 2013twitter

It would also be awesome if the ability to upload backgrounds, as well as the pre-2014 layout navigation bar were to be restored as well for a more nostalgic feel. As I mentioned earlier, this would make a great addition for those who want to relive twitter's past. 👍

Thank you, and I hope you'll take this suggestion into consideration!

OMG I agree with this.

Whew, this is a very enormous request. Please keep in mind that this project does not by any means restore the original 2014+ layout, it is a only a hybrid... And therefore restoring even older layouts does not exactly fit that good into this project, they would most likely be hybrids too.

I don't think I have the time nor the resources to do this on my own at the moment, sorry. If someone wants to work on this, feel free to do so.

How did you get an archive of 2011 Twitter? The wayback machine just redirects me to the home page for most of the 2011 results, and archive.today doesn't have anything that I can find.

@R3n001 Go to this url for an example of an archive of 2011 twitter:

http://web.archive.org/web/20111207035337/http://twitter.com/jack

sadly, some 2011 and most 2012 links have the hash-bang (#!) URL monikers that were mostly a thing on twitter until 2013 when they made headers a common element of the site. They were officially deprecated in 2015 from what I understand.
