Raspberry Pi 2 installation in Arch Linux - dependencies not resolving

Hello, I was trying to install blackarch in Arch Linux on a Raspberry Pi 2+, but I'm seeing quite a few warnings on the dependencies. Everything was OK up until I ran sudo pacman -S blackarch.

I thought I was doing something wrong, but I can't find any info about this anywhere after searching for a while. I saw an old issue posted back in early 2016 but nothing appears to have been resolved in that one.

Hello, please use: pacman -Syyu --overwrite='*' blackarch, doing pacman -S blackarch can fail because repos aren't synced and it also can do partial upgrades that aren't supported by BlackArch. Let me know if your issue is fixed running pacman -Syyu --overwrite='*' blackarch.

Hello, thanks for the suggestion. I tried running the pacman command like that but it looks like it's doing the same thing. The output is the same as before. When it gets to this point Do you want to skip the above packages for this upgrade? [y/N] I always enter the default. I wanted to try a full install and not skip all those packages. I'm not sure what would happen yet if I enter y. I'm wondering if I should start over and install Arch Linux again. There were a few odd hangs when booting after the first boot.

Hello, I tried again with a fresh arch linux and got the same thing happening. Also, after running sudo ./strap.sh I saw this: ERROR: The keyring file /usr/share/pacman/keyrings/archlinux.gpg does not exist. Not sure what that means. I did finish the arch linux installation and I installed a few small things before trying to install blackarch.

There are several issues about that (e.g. BlackArch/blackarch#883). Please have a look at them, or try to follow the steps in strap.sh manually to resolve this

Thanks, I looked closer at strap.sh, tried running the functions one at a time. For RaspberryPi, I was wondering if line 108 in strap.sh: pacman-key --populate archlinux blackarch should be changed to this: pacman-key --populate archlinuxarm blackarch because after I changed archlinux to archlinuxarm, this error stopped happening: ERROR: The keyring file /usr/share/pacman/keyrings/archlinux.gpg does not exist Probably because the file in there is: archlinuxarm.gpg

Unfortunately, even if that's right and it should be archlinuxarm in this case, I still seem to have the same issue and can't install blackarch with: sudo pacman -Syyu --overwrite='*' blackarch

I guess I'll see if there is something else in #883 that will work.

I switched archlinuxarm back to archlinux on line 108 of strap.sh and I installed archlinux-keyring with pacman -S archlinux-keyring. Then I could run sudo ./strap.sh without the same error I was seeing above. I ran sudo pacman -Syu after ./strap.sh was finished, rebooted and now I'm back to where I was again at the start. Still can't install because of dependencies. I still haven't looked at some of the things in #883, but I'll try to check in there soon.

The are related to the signature problems. I will try to look at your problem later this week. On the first view, the missing packages are from the blackarch repo. Could you please run pacman -Sg | grep blackarch? Do you get any blackarch groups? If not, please run sudo pacman -Syy and try again

Since Feb whenever I had a chance I kept updating arch, trying to install blackarch after each update, and seeing if I could find any solutions. I haven't found anything yet and I'm still seeing the same thing happening.

Got the same error when upgrading from arch to blackarch. Everything was solved by adding a multilib packages to pacman.

Uncomment in /etc/pacman.conf:

it means you probably don't have wine installed so go to the terminal and run the /etc/pacman.conf command with your text editor and uncomment

[multilib]

Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

to enable multilib then run

sudo pacman -Syy

install wine after that and try again sudo pacman -S blackarch

Please don't try to install all tools at once. If you really want to slap on all tools on the poor raspberry pi, do it group wise. Installing all at once is asking for trouble.
