Is there a reason this can't be merged into compton mainline?

I would also have to sort out the transparent holes issue with the xrender backend, and possibly ditch the scale animation feature.

I'm personally looking for something that:

will animate main windows to the bottom panel/dock
will animate scaling of main windows when you maximize or restore them via buttons (so, now while dragging the border)
will add shadows to main windows and optionally panels
that didn't touch any window-like element like tooltips, etc.

This fork and also Ortle would be almost perfect for my use case. I have no idea if what I am looking for is that popular, though.

Personally I want:

Transparent windows
No screen tearing
Light window animations
Negligible performance impact

Compton has all of these but it also introduces some other issues with tiling window managers. Ortle does not have those issues, but it lacks the performance of compton (it redraws the entire screen at whatever the refresh rate is, regardless of whether it is needed or not).

So right now I am not happy with either of these forks either.
