Cannot Disable BiomesOP Gems #25

Open KenyMylankca opened 5 years ago

KenyMylankca commented 5 years ago

i choose "climatic" option when create a world, and i enabled the config UseBoPBiomes=true. but i can't disable BOP gems, because BOP doesn't have a config to disable gems, you disable them in world creation gui options (custom button) but i must select "climatic" option, i can't select BOP, so... help this

KenyMylankca commented 5 years ago

and i'm wondering, does it use only BOP biomes if i enable UseBoPBiomes=true? or it also adds BOP biomes?

BlackJar72 commented 5 years ago

It adds the BoP biomes.

I'm working on per-world options now, though I don't know when / if that would also be able to edit BoP options.

i really need this customize button thing... need to customize bop things :/ like selecting big biomes and disabling gems, etc..

I'll try and look at it more in the coming week.

I actually was just going to suggest BOP options support as well . . . not due to the gems but due to cascading world generation from things like the quicksand, poison pools, and hot springs. I've got these disabled in the BOP options, but I'm using climatic as the default for my pack because I like the way you organize things in a more realistic way.

Between BOP and Quark, I get a ton of cascading world generation from time to time and it can cause lag spikes. Currently, I'm considering if I should put a note in my description that slower machines should change over to regular BOP generation for better performance because I can't change the options in Climatic.

Obviously, I've already done things to limit the issues from quark, and I've eliminated cascading chunk generation from Primal core by moving its generation to a custom Ore generation mod. I considered doing the same thing with a lot of the BOP dirt variants too . . . but again I can't disable them and adding the configuration to my ore generator without doing that would just result in them showing up way too often.

I wouldn't consider this an enhancement . . . not being able to contain cascading world generation from supported mods seems like a huge bug! lol
