This refers to the calculation of stacked buffs, since buffs are actually multiplicative, not additive. Therefore the actual bonus a buff is contributing is not exactly damage done * bonus, since there are other buffs potentially also contributing at the same time, and they stack multiplicatively.
This is not referring to overwritten or multiple sources of buffs.
Currently it just looking at the difference between "final" damage done (with all buffs), compared to what it would be without a given buff, right?
Personally I like that approach. That multiplicative nature is what we want to take advantage of as players, and one of the best uses of xivrdps is to get a good idea of how well you're aligning party buffs.
I also like to look at xivrdps as "what does this one player add to the group," so seeing how their buffs stack onto the existing set of buffs is useful to me.
If this is referring to buffs that overwrite each other, like slashing and blunt debuffs, I recently posted my thoughts in the closed thread. If it's referring to something else, could you describe the issue in more detail?
