Indexing / display: treat identification qualifiers appropriately #94

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Scientific names, when used in object identifications, can contain qualifiers
like 'cf.' or 'aff.'. These signal that the identification is doubtful at the
level following the position of the qualifier. In source data, these qualifiers
may be part of the scientific name string, or delivered in a separate attribute
(the data schemas in use provide a separate element for this purpose). They are
not part of the taxon name as such, only of the name usage in the
identification.

In display in the data portal as well as in downloads, however, these
qualifiers need to be included in the name, otherwise the original information
on the identification of the taxon is distorted.
