boot hangs at black screen with cursor #4

I don't have the small LCD board to connect to my RPi2. I do get the initial boot messages but after the LCD screen is not found, the system stops at black screen with cursor. Does NetPi require the touch LCD screen to use?

I have found that if you change your tty it will fix this problem. Wait a minute Press "Ctrl+Alt+F2" You should see a login from tty2. Once you login if the X server does not start on login type "startx". If you want to login remotely to get the IP address the command is "hostname -I" (Capital I as in Ice Cube). Main user account: Username: pi // Password: raspberry VNC Login: Connect To: [IP]:1 // Password: netpinet Share Locations: [IP]\netpi (Located at /share/) | [IP]\web (Located at /var/www)
