Ability to fetch weather via Wi-Fi?

Is it possible to make an App on the Connect IQ store that does this?

I'm looking for an alternative to the default app that requires:

• A phone to fetch something, which the phone itself fetches via HTTP requests.
• An active bluetooth connection.

It'd be great if it's possible to make one that just uses a smart watch's Wi-Fi connection.
