Its fallen quite behind with the Android/iOS releases and making building quite a challenge. Just wondering why the releases that were normally aligned between native/rn have stopped.

We haven't had a release here since 5.17, but in that time we've had:

5.18 (July 21)
5.19 (Sept 30)
5.20 (Oct 10)
6.0 (Dec 8)
6.1 (Feb 7, 2023)

Our "building challenges" is basically what was fixed in Flutter, so I imagine the same root (API 28 vs 31)

So I'm guessing if anything - you'll cut a 5.17.1 soon for RN much like Flutter, but it seems something happened internally that flutter/cordova/rn portions are not updated at same pace now.
