I love this idea! Erin with student success is working on a whole set of career oriented group sessions. So let's toss this over the line to her and keep track of it!
I will ping her in slack. thanks for pushing me in the right direction
I got some feedback based on a comment in my session this morning. A student requested we do a session about analyzing job descriptions and talking about what it is companies are looking for.
This came up because I mentioned my day job is hiring a backend engineer, but we avoided putting the words junior and Rails in the title because we did not want to be overwhelmed with submissions. This was something I mentioned in passing and became a tagent.
I am not sure or how this session would play out, but my thought is it could be a shorter 30min session that reads through 1 or 2 job postings and takes questions.
I think it would be helpful, considering most students in the sessions I have done have been newer and most likely won't do a deep in the job search till the end of the program (IMHO this is too late).
Thoughts?
