macOS version 2.0.3 inaccessible Home and no QR options #125

I updated to the newest version of Green for macOS, version 2.0.3. Not sure if this is normal or not but there is no way to click on the Home icon. The only thing I can access is the Wallets tab and the Settings tab on bottom left. Is that the normal UI? Also, I thought that fully air-gapped QR was now available. I can't find it anywhere. When I add a new wallet, it asks me to connect my Jade via USB/Bluetooth. Where is the QR option? Also, I cannot find any option to restore a wallet. Only add New wallets. Is something wrong with my app?

there is no way to click on the Home icon.

if you mean the green icon on the top left corner? it's not a button.

fully air-gapped QR was now available

not yet on desktop. now sure what made you think otherwise.

I cannot find any option to restore a wallet

you need to select "setup a new wallet" then "on this device" and then you will see the "restore wallet" option.

Is something wrong with my app?

seems normal, it's just a bit different from 1.2.9 version.

Thank you for the reply. I think that clears a bunch of my confusions up. Couple things, if I use "on this device" to restore a wallet is that not making my Jade cold wallet now a hot wallet on my phone? Or am I misunderstanding? Thanks again.

If you have a Jade you should pick "On Hardware Wallet". The "On This Device" option should be used when you don't have a hardware signer like Jade (or don't want to use it), so it will result in a software wallet, where the seed is protected by a PIN.

Best practice is to NOT reuse a mnemonic that was used for a hardware signer.

Man, I so appreciate your replies. I apologize for my ignorance as I’m quite new to Jade, Green and cold wallets in general. Could you help me understand the process of using the Jade with Green? Currently, I set up a Jade with a 24 word seed phrase and converted it to QR using the provided cards. I can scan the QR with the Jade and load the wallet. That’s where I’m stuck. What do I do next? How do I view the wallet on Green? How do I transfer to it? I can connect my Jade wallet to Green via USB or BT but to me, that defeats the purpose of air-gapped. How do I access the wallet in a truly air-gapped way via QR? Thanks in advance.

QR mode is not yet supported on green_qt.
