holding down the power button for a long time can help recover from this problem, because that turns off the powerdraw allowing the battery to recharge to abow 2.8V
added 2 2k resistors so that 4V booster is turned off when the voltage dropps below 3V. Turning off the booster does not stop curerent from flowing throug the booster the voltage is just not boosted
using MCP73832T-2DCI/OT instead of MCP73832T-2ACI/OT will disable precharging
When battery voltage drops below 2.8V the charging current is limited to 50 mA. That is less than what is needed to keep the device alive while charging. This means that the battery is beeing drained.
