Data Base Issues

Create germination field in table Plantings. This field should have the following categories: excellent, good, average, poor, none

Reasons for changing Plantings to Propagations:

• Jo at this point in time wants the DB to do the following:
  • Know what seeds are in the collection
  • How many are in the collection
  • How well they propagated and linked to the company
  • In which media or substrate they are propagated
• Jo does not need to know the actual planting out in the field
• The word plantings indicate such an activity
• The word Propagation indicates the activity of raising the seedlings.
• The following fields are in the CreateDBAlternative:
  • propagationId integer not null primary key autoincrement,
  • packetId references SeedPackets(packetId),
  • propagationCode text,
  • dateSeeded text, --date seeded in punnet etc
  • dateGerminated text,
  • numberSeeded integer,
  • numberGerminated integer,
  • germinationRate text, --excellent, good , avarage, poor, none
  • propagationSubstrate, --purlite, soil, water, etc
  • areaPropagated text, --which greenhouse, part in the garden etc
  • propagationNote text

If this causes a problem let me know. If not I'll change the CreateDB.sql script
